On September 22, 2024, the IDA-Greater Visakhapatnam successfully hosted a one-day CDE event at the prestigious Radisson Blu Resort in Visakhapatnam. The event was headlined by Dr. Shanker Iyerfrom the USA, a globally recognized dental surgeon with over 30 years of experience in implantology. The event saw an overwhelming response, with over 400 participants, including dentists and implantologists, gathering to gain invaluable knowledge from Dr. Iyer.

Event Highlights:

1. Engaging Lectures and Practical Knowledge:

   The event featured clinically focused, engaging lectures aimed at achieving excellence in implant and prosthetic treatments. Participants learned directly from Dr. Shanker Iyer, who shared evidence-based treatment modalities aligned with global standards. This was an incredible opportunity to explore advanced case studies and techniques that can be applied to tough and complex cases in implant dentistry.

2. AAID Study Club Launch:

   A major highlight of the event was the live launch of the AAID Study Club in India. This exclusive educational platform, powered by Smile USA and promoted by DentistChannel Private Limited, aims to advance implantology education on a global scale. Mr. Melvin Mendonca, Director of DentistChannel Private Limited, was present during the launch, adding further credibility and excitement to this significant occasion. The AAID Study Club offers members exclusive access to world-class learning resources and international recognition.

3. Credit Points and Certification:

   All participants earned prestigious AGD points from the Academy of General Dentistry (USA & Canada), along with CDE credit points from the Dental Council of India. These certifications validate the participants' dedication to ongoing professional development and continuous learning, ensuring that they stay on the cutting edge of dental implantology.

4. Memorable Interaction with Dr. Shanker Iyer:

   Dr. Shanker Iyer captivated the audience with a comprehensive presentation covering 450+ slides, showcasing advanced implantology techniques and solutions. His passion for teaching was evident, and the audience remained engaged throughout the day, hungry for knowledge rather than food during breaks! His presence and commitment left a lasting impact, with many participants eager to attend future courses.

The overwhelming response to this event sets the stage for future collaborations between IDA-GV and Smile USA. We are already planning more exciting programs, including the upcoming AAID Maxi-Course in February 2025, where participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into advanced implantology techniques.
