Conservative Management of TMDs: An Evidence-Based Analysis

TMDs are a group of musculoskeletal & neuromuscular conditions that involve the TMJs, masticatory muscles & associated tissues. Conservative methods provide good symptomatic relief in most patients with TMDs. It is important to understand indications and efficacy of such treatment so it can be used appropriately. This presentation will enumerate the various conservative methods used for management of TMDs along with scientific evidence regarding the same. The indications and method of fabrication of occlusal appliances for splints for TMDs will be highlighted.
