A New Era of Digital Maxillofacial Prosthetics Begins in Mangaluru

Mangaluru witnessed a defining milestone in advanced dental education as Yenepoya Dental College successfully conducted the “Pixels to Prostheses” Hands-On Workshop on Digital Maxillofacial Prosthetics, held on 7th and 8th November 2025 at the YDC Auditorium.

The program was organised by the Department of Prosthodontics and the Department of Dental Materials, Yenepoya Dental College, as part of their Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program.
This two-day academic initiative focused on bridging conventional maxillofacial prosthodontics with advanced digital workflows, offering participants a rare blend of theory, live demonstrations, and practical hands-on exposure.

Dr. Abhishek Nagaraj – Transforming Digital Planning into Life-Changing Prostheses

A major highlight of the hands-on CDE workshop was Dr. Abhishek Nagaraj, whose sessions delivered a first-of-its-kind clinical learning experience for prosthodontists, oral rehabilitation specialists, and postgraduate students.

Through detailed lectures and immersive hands-on demonstrations, he showcased how digital maxillofacial workflows, virtual planning, 3D modeling, and guided fabrication techniques significantly improve accuracy, predictability, and aesthetic outcomes in complex facial rehabilitation cases.

Participants displayed remarkable curiosity and engagement throughout the sessions. Dr. Abhishek emphasized how digital prosthetic planning not only reduces human error but also builds long-term patient trust and confidence, placing the patient at the centre of every rehabilitative decision.

Dr. Manju V – Seamlessly Bridging Conventional Techniques with Digital Precision

Equal appreciation goes to Dr. Manju V, whose session was equally mind-blowing and academically enriching. Her exceptional ability to simplify complex concepts in conventional maxillofacial prosthodontics enabled participants to clearly understand the natural progression from traditional techniques to digital prosthetic workflows.

Her session played a crucial role in helping participants confidently embrace digital maxillofacial prosthetics within their existing clinical skill sets.
