A TARGETED APPROACH
OBJECTIVE :
Periodontal destruction is caused due to periodontal pathogens which can be removed by mechanical methods there may be some cases where the pathogens cannot be removed by mechanical methods where the local drug delivery system comes into play. Local drug delivery -the therapy is done by placing an antiseptic or antibiotics in direct contact with periodontal tissue to reduce or eliminate the pathogenic microorganisms. Here we will learn rationale, techniques , benefits, and side effects of this technique.
